Matt Poursoltani is no ordinary high school senior. In fact, the can lift a lot more that most of the advanced power lifters. On Saturday, at the Texas High School Powerlifting he broke the his own state record by benching 700 pound!

When ask how and why he was able to do it, Matt responded “When I tore my ACL, I didn’t have anything else to do, so I benched every day. I had to do something. It’s all I had.”

The reported top bench press in the NFL is 705 by Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Larry Alen.

Matt Poursoltani was 5’10 and weighed 270 at the time of performing the bench press.
